Love is a Skin
love is a skin
that protects you,
a warmth that spreads
from the tips of your fingers
to your heart
sorry – not love –
glove, i meant glove

Love is a skin that protects you and then you catch yourself: ‘sorry – not love – glove, i meant glove.’ But Brian, you didn’t mean glove at all. You meant exactly what you said the first time. A glove is love, isn’t it? The thing that keeps you warm, keeps you safe, spreads from your fingertips to your heart. That slip of the tongue is the whole poem right there. 💙

Classic Bilston wit! 🥊 You had me swooning for a second before the punchline landed—truly fitting to ‘glove’ a poem with such a handy twist! 🧤❤️✨
