Ten years ago, You Took the Last Bus Home was published. It was my first collection of poetry and incredibly, it’s still going strong. To celebrate the anniversary, I thought I’d share a poem from it every day this month, starting with the title poem.
You Took the Last Bus Home
you took
the last bus home
don’t know how
you got it through the door
you’re always doing amazing stuff
like the time
you caught that train

Not long now, Linda. See you there!
Let Sleeping Cats Lie
Is a Gem
That sparkles with wit
And a dogs despair
Chasing the last bus home
Delightful – and thank you.
Wonderful – I have the book and it’s a constant source of enjoyment.
That’s lovely to hear. Thank you, Malcolm.
Happy 10th anniversary to You Took the Last Bus Home ↗! It is incredible to think it’s been a decade since this gem was first published. That title poem never fails to bring a smile—managing to get a bus through the front door is quite the commute! Here’s to celebrating the new edition all month long!
Thanks so much!
Your welcome Brian
